You wouldn't belive this. My friend told me about a 99 Si he saw for sale at a junk yard(bout a mile from my house!).....guess the price. $4900!! Yep, thats it. I went to check the car....almost all good! :flash: The engine and car has 20k on it, no mods, front bumper, rear bumper, hood, headlights, taillights, air bags, rims....all in perfect condintion!
Does it sound like a good deal? All I want is all the parts I need for the swap, and the guage cluster. Think I can recooperate most of the $4900 back by selling the rest of the parts....oh yea, a brake swap off the Si would be a great thing too! Problem is, right now I am low on cash! But I think a little debt may be worth it! Let me know what you think. |

Great Idea. The brakes, the taillights (if they're different...I love the new white/red only lights) and of course the engine. Do it, man.
IF you just can't get the cash for it, see if he'll part it out for you so you can get the brakes engine(?) and lights...and whatever else you want.

Paid a real high price of $4300!! And drove the thing home! This is a dream come frickin true!!!
Yea, the Si rims are on it, they may be for sale, but I need some tires on my car pretty bad, and these off the car are really nice! If anyone needs parts let me know. :flash: Pic so you can see the condintion it is in. |

Pardon my french but...
YOU LUCKY FUCKER!!! How in the hell did you get a '99 Si for $4,300?!?! DAMN!! My brother would have shit a brick if he had found that deal.
Now, are you really just swapping parts that you need? You aren't going to keep the whole car? If not, what are you going to do with the rest of the car? Well, many many congratulations to you my friend! Guess you won't be needing my B18C1 shortblock anymore!! |

Might I make a suggestion....
Why? I didn't really analyze this at first, but hell....keep the Si! Why swap engines when it's already in a car? I guess if you want the color. But, here's what I would do.....
Keep one for the daily driver, and strip the other one! Completely tear it down (remember the sport compact Si?). Lower it, get exhaust, intake and maybe a header...save up and get a turbo, whatever. But, why swap an engine from your civic into your other civic? If you really don't want to keep both for financial reasons, I'd keep one, sell the other completely (I'd assume you could get more than 4300 for either), and use whatever you make for a turbo. I guess I just think it's somewhat pointless(?) to swap from one to another of the same thing. Congratulations, though.

Wow, looks like it was a good deal there. Man, you could fix that and make a tidy profit. I wish there were some dumbasses around here that let prizes like that go for those prices.

Wait a sec...
The Si is not really fixable.....it might be fixable the junkyard guy said, but I am betting it would cost at least $10k to get it done...these pics should help reinforce that idea.
Oh yea, and I am planning on stripping one car down completley...the Si. |

Lucky punk!
You're still really lucky that all the damage is on the passenger side. The wheels don't even seem to have a ding on them!
Wow! Have fun! |

Its awesome to have a car to play with!
I put the Si driver and passanger seats in my car today.
The only thing holding me back is the locknuts on the rims....I went to honda, to see if they could order a key and they cant, I don't know anyone who has one!! So the rims are stuck on the wrecked car, and holding me back from putting it up on jackstands!! Anyone selling a lugnut key, or want to borrow me one via the mail!? I will give you some money or something! |

How come Honda can't get you a key? Are the locks aftermarket? Could be a challenge for your local locksmith!

Sounds good. Hey man, just for you, I've polished up my baby all nice and swanky, and I'm going to borrow the digital camera at lunch today to take a couple pictures of her. I should have them up within a couple days.
