What's your mpg on your Sedona???
Hey all,
Got a 2005 Sedona EX with a 3.5. Driving mostly city, I was finally able to figure out my mpg, and found out that I only get 15 mpg!!! I was wondering what other Sedona owners get for milage. If this isn't normal, than I'd like to try to figure out the problem. Mind you this is City milage. We haven't gone on any trips in it (yet) Thanks in advance. |

I have an 03 Sedona with 56,600 miles and average about 18mpg. I would guess the 15 city is normal.

Re: What's your mpg on your Sedona???
I got 18 in mix city/fwy driving. About 21 for fwy only with AC on. I think 15 in city only is about right. Don't confuse with the windows sticker estimate, I rent a quest last year and I thought I should get 24 for fwy only 'cos sticker said 26, but no matter how I try, 70 constantly for 200mi round trip, I get 20.1. So don't expect too much for the 4700lb 3.5L van.

Re: What's your mpg on your Sedona???
I bought a new 2007 Sedona, clearance model, March 1, 2008. I wasn't impressed with the hwy milage within the first 2000 miles. It now coming up on 5000 and am happy to get 26 mpg, which is what the sticker stated. I drive like an old man, use the cruise control set at 65, the speed limit on the freeways around here. Otherwise it is 18 to 19 with my wife driving. She's the type to speed up in order to stop at the next light. Oh well. Can't change a woman.

Re: What's your mpg on your Sedona???
I have an 05 Sedona that I bought used. I only seem to get around 11-13mpg. Granted, I use the remote start to let it warm for 5-10minutes before work, but still....I am not pleased. However, I guess I should've expected this, as I previously had a Santa Fe with the same 3.5L engine that was horrible on gas. Any suggestions to improve MPGs would be appreciated!!

A full throttle body cleaning will improve your gas mileage. A thats not just cleaning the throttle plate. Its injectors, the fuel tank and throttle body. Three step process. Also while your at it replace spark plugs, fuel filter, oil change and air cleaner. Results should be immediate.

Re: What's your mpg on your Sedona???
I have an 07 with 3.8, and 101,000 miles. The mpg monitor which I don't reset to often stays right at 21. I live in rural Wyoming. When on the interstate at 75-80. I have checked it with a calculator. I have gotten as much as 25. I think the 21 is a good average where I live. We have no stoplights Just some 4-ways.

You can see my mileage in my signature. Fuelly is a great site for tracking your mileage.
Mileage is terrible in the city! Watch that throttle. It's decent on the highway, unless you tow a trailer. |

Re: What's your mpg on your Sedona???
2006 Sedona, I get 15-18 in town, depending on weather, 15 or 16 when towing a trailer, up to 24 on the highway, if I am doing a long trip.
