85 190E Odometer stopped
My son has a 1985 190e that has a broken odometer.
The speedometer works, but the odometer is stuck at 119,500 miles. I'd like to fix it, I am fairly handy with tools, but not with cars. Is it a broken cable or something that I can get at and fix? Any help would be appreciated. |

Re: 85 190E Odometer stopped
There is a main drive gear in the odometer that fails quite often. The repair isn't extremely difficult if the gear is good. If you have to order the gear it gets more involved as far as time goes. There are some good resources on the web, do a Google on "Mercedes speedometer repair" and you'll get an idea of what is going on.
