2000 Silhouette turns over won't start after jumping another car
I've driven my Silhouette daily for the past 3 months, including Friday. When I got home on Friday I used it to jump start another car that had a dead battery. While doing that I idled in the driveway for about 30 minutes. I then put it in gear, moved it out of the way, and parked it. Everything felt normal at that point. This morning (4 days later) when I tried to start it it turned over, but wouldn't start. I put a gallon of gas in it and tried to start it again, but it still turned over and wouldn't start.
Other stuff that may be related: - I don't see any blown fuses in the fuse box (but I only looked for a minute or two) - It's turning over strong - it's not struggling at all. The battery seems fine and has a lot of power. - it goes into gear - I put it in neutral and moved it a bit. - I've been keeping an eye on the temp gauge for the last week because it's been so hot here, and it's been running at about an 1/8 inch above the middle of the temperature gauge. - For the last 3 months the interior lights/gauges will sometimes seem to "reset" themselves - i.e. they'll blink, the odometer will got to all zeroes, and then a second later everything will go back to normal. It never affected the operation of the car, so I never bothered trying to figure out what was going on. Any advice would be appreciated. |
