07 Dodge 1500 5.7L hemi rebuild

Hey everyone, new to this site, when I was 16 I blew up this truck I have and am just getting around to rebuilding it. Looking for parts and need help finding them and tips for rebuilding, it didn’t have any oil in it and before I pulled the engine it still ran , just had this knocking noise that sounded like it traveled the crank because it would knock up and down, any help will be appreciated!

Are you intent on building it yourself for the experience and high cost or are you open to getting a rebuilt and installing it yourself?

I’m paying for parts and I’m doing all the labor myself, it’s my first time doing anything like this and I’ve pulled the engine. It’s for experience and lower cost.

Have you located a machine shop to do the machining?
Are you boring and honing the block to be sure the cylinders are round and straight?
Are you going to face the valves, do the seats, setup the valve springs? What about the valves that the margins are too thin.....you'll have to replace the bad ones.
Don't buy pistons & rings until you find out how much it takes to clean up the cylinders.
Same with rod & main bearings until the crankshaft gets checked out.
