2004 Monterey - Misfire
I have a Mercury Monterey in the shop that has a random misfire. Tried cleaning the injectors, replacing fuel and air filters, checking fuel quality, plugs and wires (which I may add are a pain in the rear to find). Still misses, gets worse when AC Compressor kicks in, seems to run fine at Hwy speeds. No codes except random misfire. Help?

has this had a new cam sensor put in it recently? I have seen a lot of them put in wrong and cause random miss issues. also had a few under tsb with egr sticking open. also check imrc runner control for binding and miss at low rpm.

Problem solved guys, do appreciate the input. Coil pack was actually hairlined down one side and was not applying enough current intermittently to two cylinders. Thanks!
