Nissan Skyline ER34 Blitz 2005
For a dutch groupbuild we decided to build all kind of drifters.
I had this Aoshima kit laying around, and wanted to build it just like the boxart. I don't know where the original wheels are, but I was lucky I had another aftermarket set with the same wheels. Some parts will be replaced by PE or other parts. For example the seats, which got molded on seatbelts, wil be replaced by some Scale Production seats with HobbyDesign PE seatbelts. After sanding the body, I could spray some white primer from Zero Paints on it. After that I was able to paint it white. I used a custom paint also known as Ibis White from Audi. The photos shows a bit of broken white color, but believe me it is pure white like the paint in the bottle Tonight I'll start adding the decals on the body. Kris.

All kidding aside though, the original Skylines (50's) started off as 4-door sedans. Nomuken's ER34 isn't a GT-R but there actually were the original Hakosuka four-door GT-R variants (60's), then later the R32 and R33 Autech four-door GT-R versions (90's). |

Skylines have always come in 4 doors, Theres probly none in the US but over here in NZ there are heaps!! the 2 door coupes definetly look better!
A friend of mine had a 4 door R32 turbo, man was it quick & good to drift. Cant wait to see the decals on!

Nice to see you at it again kris. I really like the hood that comes on that skyline. Hopefully Scaleautostyle will release that t-kit that comes with that hood soon.
Keep us posted. |

Re: Nissan Skyline ER34 Blitz 2005
Yesterday I started with adding the decals.
It was a nightmare to do. Every decal broke in several pieces when it contacts water or my tweezer. Some decals must be placed over big curves and roundings which is also a nightmare to do. I used a lot of decal softener and a hairdryer. I donīt have any experience with so many decals, but the overall result is ok to me. Some decals which were just one piece, became a big puzzle when it broke in 40 pieces. For the side mirrors and rearwing i used Scale Motorsport High Defenition carbon. This is the best carbon decal i ever seen. Today I clearcoated the body and wing with Zero 2K Clear. Kris.

Good job with those decals. I have this one lying around too, not surprised to hear you had some trouble with it, it looks like a headache.

Re: Nissan Skyline ER34 Blitz 2005
Even though you had them rip, it still looks good. Can't see the rips. Same thing happened to me, seems like some of fujimis and aoshima decals aren't that good.

Re: Nissan Skyline ER34 Blitz 2005
Today I went on with the Skyline.
First I painted the interior. After some Tamiya grey primer, I painted some Vallejo Air Artic Blue on it. After dinner I mixed some 2K laquer and clearcoated the interior. There's a few dusts in it, but nothing to worry. Almost everything will be covered, or not be noticed when it's done. The rear wing and side mirrors also got some clearcoat: I clearcoated the body a couple days ago, but I had some black dusts in the white areas. So I sanded them away, and today I gave it another clearcoat. This week I'll try to build further on the interior. I have some resin seats and PE safetybelts. Kris.

Re: Nissan Skyline ER34 Blitz 2005
Looks good! I've been waiting and waiting for this model some time. I think I'll order one soon. I've been wanting to do a custom build of the current ER34 Nomuken drives which is the new Uras GT-Style Kit. Maybe after I'm done with my Sil80 build which I need to get back to.
Oh don't forget about the eyeliner on the headlights. It should be the same white as the body.
