replacing struts on 2004 vibe

Is it necessary to remove the axle nut to replace the front struts on my 2004 pontica vibe. And can you tell me what is the correct lug torque for this car. Thanks

Re: replacing struts on 2004 vibe

If a strut compressor is used it should not be necessary to remove the axle or its outer hub nut. However, if the strut is not compressed the axle will probably need to be loosened from the hub bearing.

Once the axle nut is removed can you reuse that same axle nut or will you have to replace it with a new one. Thanks
