DeLorean reviews GM's new GTO & praises Honda

http://www.thecarconnection.com/index.asp?article=5024

Check it out...

"DeLorean was enraged by the decision to cancel Oldsmobile. “To announce that you are going to discontinue the oldest car line in America and announce it two years ahead of time is unbelievable. Now GM is spending a fortune in advertising to convince people to buy that car. That was stupid."

I agree

“What Honda is doing should almost be illegal,” DeLorean, an NSX owner, says. “They have been beating the federal emission standards almost voluntarily. They have become the best engine builders in the world.”

Whoah!

Honda's engines are wonderfully clean and powerful for their size, but most of them lack torque. I'd much rather have a torquey engine than one I have to rev to 10 grand just to get it moving...

With all that torque I'd imagine you would just sit there burning out until your times popped or wore down to the steel belts!

actually, according to some research I did, if I built it up like mad, and beefed it to where it could rev to 10 grand, the powerband would start at like, 180 and at about 5 grand go to 450 and then at 7 be about 350 and then at 10 300

That would be nuts

I was exagerrating about the 10 grand part, but yeah, that would be cool except that it wouldn't do my engine any good since my hp peak is at 4000 and then just drops off like mad after that

"Did you have fun?"

"Now me & the doc have to tear apart the block to replace the piston rings you fried, and pull out the KY Jelly and ram your head into one of those bright purple hoses that don't match the color of your car! Next, we'll probe your mind to find out why you put a giant graphic of an eagle on the side of a Mitsubishi. Why didn't you get a Talon if you're gonna be putting Eagles on the side of your car!?"
