Wacked headlight

My left headlight only worked on the bright select. Changed the bulb without disconnecting the battery. Now the bright light indicator is always on and the new lamp is bright when the other is dim and vice versa?????
Any one have any idea on what is going on?????

You put in the wrong bulb. I'm guessing you have a 2001 and bought the 9007 bulb that is erroneously specified in the owner's manual. The 2000 and 2001 use a 9004 bulb, the 2002-2004 use a 9007.
