Doors won't stay closed
Has anybody else had a problem with the painted door latches not staying closed?
I had it into the dealer for repair and they told me the put in "super special lube" and it should be fine. Well the next week my wife had it loaded full of people and the door flew open on the freeway. The problem is on both the drivers and passenger doors. It's never happened on my 2000 F-350 but those latches are black and my handles on the 2003 are painted. When I slam the doors they bounce right back, they just won't stay latched! I will not return to that dealer but until I can get to a different one I need a quick fix so I can use my EX this weekend...anybody have a suggestion? Chad |

Re: Doors won't stay closed
If the doors won't close and stay shut the striiker plate needs to be adjusted towards the outside of the vehicle. If this won't work the door is out of alignment and needs to go to the body shop.

Re: Doors won't stay closed
I have this problem with my Taurus. The latch just would not hold. I spayed a little WD40 on the latch, opened and closed it, and everything was fine.
