The Dx is held back from its full potential due to it having DPFI. Swap to MPFI and you may have a slight chance with a 5 speed tranny.

you sure its an si.. becuse the only 4 speed trany i knew of like that was in a civic/crx std.. and they are super slow.. so if he has a std tranny it may slow him down a bit? due to gear ratios

A DX will almost never beat an Si without mpfi. Doing mods with dpfi will get you nowhere. Ive been there, I had a 5-spd dx with exhaust and intake and my friends stock crx si spanked me.

CRX Sis never came in 4 speed standard, and there's no such thing as a CRX STD.
There is no hope in making your auto CRX faster without a lot of money.

Crx si is much faster. I know this is a lil different. Ok i raced my friend back when i had a stock motor in my si and he had his 97 hatch dx with header, intake and exhaust . I killed him in 2nd gear lol! Now he has a b16 in it

Ok, plain and simple, a DX will beat an Si quite easily (provided they both have same motor and tranny). Take mine for example, I have a 88 CRX Dx, I dropped an 90 CRX Si STOCK motor, tranny, and ECU into it and love it. The DX is lighter than the Si therefore the DX can potentially run faster.
Long story short when the car was a complete DX, I was runnin hard against another CRX and ended up side swipin a 18-wheeler. So in the proccess of fixin the car I found a 90 CRX Si in a junkyard that wasn't in that bad condition, so I stripped it down and took almost everything but the frame. So my 88 Dx has all disk brakes, a Si Rear (both quarter panels, doors, & hatch), a Si motor and tranny. Needless to say its now what I like to call a Si Conversion, becuase it is not a true Si. The only way you can tell that mines not an Si is that I purposely did not put the sunroof in.... Right now I'm burning Stock CRX Si's, Intergras, some Turbos,.... The weight difference helps alot but also brings a very bad downside in the rain/snow, this car does like to Hydroplane in the rain. |
