Pictures of 1980lb sports car that I built from scratch
Hello, My name is John chesnut. I have just found this forum and thought that some of you gear heads might be interested in a car that I have just finished. I like the looks of the late 1950's sports racers and I like the technology of the new generation of Vettes. I built an aluminum semi monoque chassis. It is the stock wheelbase, track, and ground clearance of the C5 Vette. I bolted in the suspension cradles of the Vette. I shortened the torque tube by about 22 inches and moved the engine rearward. The car has a modified LS6 vette engine hooked to the 6 speed transaxle. The wet weight is 1980lbs with 54% rear weight with me in the car. I built this in my garage for fun. I own a small company that makes childrens coin banks. Cars are my passion. I do this for fun. Thanks for looking. John
