68 gto help badly!

hi everyone. i just need some help on where to begin to look for my dads old 68 gto he used to own now the thing is he does not know im looking for it and he doesnt need to know!
and a couple other things are i dont know any license plate #'s or vin #'s or even the last person he sold it to so again where do you guys begin to look with no info at all???

I would think to start with the Ohio BMV. You will need his full name and address at the time of ownership of this vehicle. Also try to find out if he had AAA membership at the time period, possible info in their records. Very difficult project without his input in some way. Maybe you could locate friends of his that may be able to shed light on the project. VIN would enable tracking of sales history and installed options, color etc.

ok i think thats what ill do is call the bmv and even AAA just ask if they can shed any light on the subject matter at all probably Monday sometime! cross your fingers!

and please if theres anything else than by all means!...
