i would say your dim and high switch went bad. have you checked your battery cables and made sure they are clean?

In case anyone's interested, the fix for losing high beams, in this case at least, was to change both headlight bulbs, seems both high beams blew at the same time. Another one of those things that make you go Oh well,something else to add to my rather lengthy, steadily growing "Strange Things That Trackers Do" list.
