Gear LIGHT indicator???
I own a 96 tracker 4 door, 4x4 but the gear light indicator isnt lighting and at times i catch myself putting the gear on a lower gear when dark..is there a lightbulb for this and where exactly?? I will be disassembling it soon so before i go ahead and break things up please let me know...thank you!

I have a 1990 Geo Tracker and my light was out when I got it.It's located(on mine)inside the shifter cover on the drivers side .I had to remove the console type cover (2 screws at the front of the cover and 2 push-in plugs located towards the rear of this cover, then you should see a set of wires on the drivers side of the shifter console leading to the light socket,this a twist and pull unit , my bulb was the same style that is used on the dash lights on Ford vehicles ! Hope this helps ! ...cougar...
