97 BMW 540I 155K random missfire

This car gets random missfire code and missfire on cyl 3,1 and sometimes 8.
Here is what we have done so far:
New NGK plugs first did not help.
New Cats didn't help the missfire but it does seems to run/breath much better
swapped the coil paks around and that did not chage the cylinders it missfired on.
Bought a new coil pad and boot and put on number 3 cyl and it still misses on that cyl.
If you pull that plug it is wet.
Compression test shows good on cyl.

I'm stumped..any ideas on what else we can try. This car will be driven from Mid Missouri to South Texas soon and then to Tacoma, Washington. It is my nephews wifes car and they have little baby too. He is headed back to iraq and she will be driving this thing by herself so I have to make sure it is running good.
Thanks Rob
