Winter Slalom or WinterTrac
Have had some good success with a generic brand from Canadian Tire called the WinterTrac. These are the same tires as the BF Goodrich Winter Slalom and are rated for snow and ice driving. A significant difference over the stock all-seasons for stopping/starting on icy/snowy roads. The price was right -- $C76/tire installed (about $60US). You can add studs to these tires too (not that I ever would).
