Re: Turbo 240sx Owners: Turbo Setups/Plans/Goals

I am assuming that you are reffering to my v6... Its the 84 so its single over head single turbo (single turbo is a plus but not the 12 valve part(single cam)
and the problem is the ecu.... I tried 2 ecus tested all wires and multiple different sensors of all types.. all same result....... So different motor ecu harness everything. I have access to several in the bone yard...(I chew through motors like nobody's business..) Also this is only a temp motor... I plan to spend under 1000 and build a good ka.... (also the guy says 125 for the tranny ecu engine and harness....) After I do that and I get the cars suspension to be good(haven't driven it in 9 months so I imagine it may need some tlc. After I do that and get the interior satisfactory (need to get new seats) I am going to swap in a different motor... Haven't set my mind on anything but I'm tossin' around a rb series... probably just the rb25det....
After I get that I'm going to sell all the ka stuff and some of what I don't need off the rb (intercooler, manifold, turbo, injectors, anything that I'm replacing with better..... ) But till then its just talk... But I dumped 13,000 into a 79 280zx.... Stock nissan motor... lol... (jokes that honda boys around here say when they think they got something) ..... But anyway.. Gonna start working on this project.... (also I put the 13,000 into the car in the last 11 months so... ) Everybody taunts me... the car isnt on the road... I lined up with my buddy who has a hyundai accent (fucking light) with a tibouran motor and a turbo... (10psi) I am running my timing retarded and stock (6.7) psi of boost.... lol.... who do you think won... Oh yeah I was shifting at under 5,000 rpms... lol... I felt my car come alive at 4... I chucked cause I pulled passed in 2nd (let him pull a full car before I let off the clutch granny through 1st (rolled on throttle shifted at 4))I let it rev to 5 in 3rd gear... At 4000 it felt like a large gain in pull... But it was only my second pass down the road... It was funny the kid was like boy for all you say you got done to it its not that bad... I was like I know... smirked chuckled reved to3500 droped the clutch and just felt the lovely side ways motion (2nd gear dump)... Got back to my house and the kid was like what was wroung back there it looked like something broke... I was like its rear wheel drive... (he was confused...)

Any way time for the next (and previous) project.....

Re: Turbo 240sx Owners: Turbo Setups/Plans/Goals

Nah more like the Full-Race style just mild steel and NOT welded by robotsPB uses the tight radius elbows, too many sharp turns for me.

Yea it was MIG welded and I still question how durable it will be.Once I get a bit of cash,I will test it out on my Daily driver!

Yes these things aren't very easy to make. That's why you dont see Quality tubular manifolds for less than $600 being whore'd out.

hoosier mentioned getting into tight places to weld. when you do your final piece, get a cap for your tig torch instead of a tail. if you dont know what i mean i can find a pic for you, but im sure this will make it alot easier to squeeze into tight places. just make sure to use a smaller tungsten so you can get the cap on. if youre already doing this or know about this, disregard what i just said.. keep on keepin on lol

Re: Turbo 240sx Owners: Turbo Setups/Plans/Goals

Well, I have an 89 240sx with the KA24 single cam. I have a T3 on it right now with a rising rate regulator. Still seems to detonate VERY slightly at 12psi. I also have a 280 turbo and a 300 turbo. Both have been nothing but upgrades. I am having troubles with the 240 though.

What can I do without having to dump in a new ecu. Can I upgrade the injectors at al? Thanks

Re: Turbo 240sx Owners: Turbo Setups/Plans/Goals

Oh yeah. I have already upgraded the 240 with a nice bosch external inline fuel pump. 2 1/2" exhaust. New rings, bearings, lifters, rockers, springs, 24x12x3 intercooler, 2 row radiator, Electric fans, MSD boost retard
