Here is what is going on with your car.
Your airbag diagnostic monitor is seeing the resistance out of tolerance for the circuit(s). So either there is a bad connection causing this high resistance, or could be a broken wire causing the resistance to be infinite (otherwise 0.L outta limit)
Could also be poor contact inside the clockspring or the diagnostic monitor.

Double check ALL of your fuses.. sounds dumb but sometimes it
winds up being a fuse!!!
If all fuses are good,

One of 3 things:

Air bag diagnostic monitor

Clockspring

Wiring problem either circuit 614 (Gray wire w/ Orange stripe)
OR cirucit 615 (Gray wire w/ White stripe)

If you don't have the proper tools to test this with, I would
not recommend that you attempt this repair.
Could cost big dollars!!!

I wish I could be of more help!!

good go fordman:
will avoid collisions for now and check the fuses and connectors. my farmboy solution is a big square piece of electrician's tape over the flashing light to avoid becoming hypnotized. were you pulling my leg about the clock spring? i think the clock is electric.
bye bye

No leg pulling here!! LOL

That's what most people call it.
Ford parts systems call it "air bag sliding contact"

decode the trouble codes?

hey hey fordman,

i'm gonna try fixing it myself. where can i find circuits 614 & 615? do they show the clockspring? i have a haynes repair manual, milliohm meter, etc but am reluctant to attempt repair without a step by step manual to guide me. does ford sell such a thing or can i find it on line?

my dodge caravan (89 2.5L turbo) manual has the entire trouble code and shows how to reset the computer after repairs. what is the full trouble code list for my 92 sable?

thanks mucho
