i was thinking about this for a while, but why didn't they put engine swaps into the game, it would have made it that much more fun, they did it in auto modellista and gran turismo is a way beter game.

There is no need for engine swaps in the game. If you want a better engine, buy the car that has it.

Forza Motorsports i think is going to have engine swaps. but it's unknown whether it's just going to go buy the same car type, or you can say, put a skyline engine in something other than a skyline. but, i would like the engine swapping. then, you could get special engines for your car. with say, more rpms, or diffrent displacements.

Re: why not engine swaps?

it's just not the same, hacking a game to do something like that. i agree that it would be nice to be able to swap engines around, especially fairly common ones: ls1 into 3rd gen rx7 or 280z comes to mind. i would really like to be able to swap around toyota and gm motors, old mr2 with the 3sgte? perhaps a 240 with an rb20? so many options...
except, to do that the designers would have to figure out the changes in the car's handling characteristics.
can you imaging an ae86 with a 2jz in it?

Re: why not engine swaps?

yah alot of ppl dont' use mk program to creat nethign to wild they usally try to stick with somthign that is possible. Btw what bout the 240sx with the Rb25,Rb26? I agree if Froza does this they need to study what kind of weight differnce etc.. Like i've seen ppl swapping mustang 5.0 into miatas here latley i've herd it destroys the handling on say a auto or small turns.

Re: why not engine swaps?

i know it does ruin handling on alot of the cars that you change the egnines in, like 280z with v8, its probably only going to be good on a 1/4, but some cars it would be fun on, and i dont think forza is going to put much studying into their cars, they probably just made the cars 'how they think' it would drive, with engine swaps, it would probably be unreal, like good handling, with lots of power on that 240z with v8, but i dunno yet have to see when the game comes

Re: why not engine swaps?

the ford 302 would definitely hurt the handling of the miata, but what about a 13b? i think that would be killer.
as for the 240 with the rb20de, i think that would be a nice platform to use for high compression na or a sc for a very linear powerband and better handling. however, the larger block would change the balance from the sr20
actually, with the ls1 swaps (rx7, 280z), it doesn't hurt the weight dist. much because it is such a light engine

Re: why not engine swaps?

The 13b na or turbo into a maita is a sick puppy i've seen bout 4-5 on video that i'v got off the net and they will go. One guy who had no emissions had a straight pip all the way back sounded wicked.

Re: why not engine swaps?

it isn't a bad idea, i briefly considered selling my dsm to buy a miata shell a while back. then i'd take my time locating a 13b in minneapolis. but... i don't know, maybe after i finish my current college endeavor
