2003 mazdaspeed protege problems

im having problems with the car stumbling in gears 4 and 5 and now it seems like the turbo isnt even kicking in. it kicks in on gears 1-3 but as soon as i get to 4th gear and floor it the rpms dont even move its like stuck and cant get past 4th gear. if anyone knows any ideas or solutions to my problem please write back or email me at gamestros420@yahoo.com thank you

do you have any check engine light on. check for boost leak. best thing is
to put a boost gauge on and check what the max boost is. stock it should
run around 5-6 psi. you might be hitting boost cut. these cars aren't that fast to start with.

Turbos don't "kick in" like a switch... they spool up (which is created by the exhaust gas)

Turbos would also have nothing to do with what gear you are in. They are load and rpm based, not gear.

Do you have a boost gauge in the car yet?
