help installing new stereo?

I'm trying to put a new stereo into my 94 plymouth voyager.
I bought the adapter cable and put caps on the wires, but it's not turning on.
When I first put it in, I touched the ground to a bolt and it whirred for a second, then nothing.
Additionally, after that, the lights on the roof stopped turning on.
Did I blow a fuse?
Which one?
What do I do?

Re: help installing new stereo?

sounds like you blew a fuase if other stuff doesn't work either. There are fuses under the dash AND some fuses under the hood. The ones under the dash should have a template on the panel that says what fuse goes to what. Look for the one that lists stereo.

Re: help installing new stereo?

it should look like item 3 in the link. The little "S" in the middle will be burned out somewhere if the fuse is bad
