The spring 1969 1/2 Maverick and fall 1970 maverick would work, the chassis is the same too.

Not even close. the COMET and Maverick share parts, but the 70 1/2 falcon is actually the BASE trim level of the '70-71 Torino.

This is the 70 1/2 falcon:

And this is the '70-71 Torino:

Well, it should work with a 69 1/2 Falcon and 69 1/2 Maverick. At least the frame was basically the same uni-body.

Never saw a 70 1/2 Falcon Before, that was a very cool picture, thanks for posting it.

Re: doors interchange with a 1970 1/2 Ford Falcon

Of the cars shown, neither is a 70 1/2 Falcon, close but no cigar. The 1st car is a 70 Fairlane 2dr hardtop ( 70 1/2 Falcon 2dr & 4dr were window post sedans only, plus a 4dr wagon). The 2nd is a 70 Torino Cobra. The 70 1/2 Falcon had the same engine options as the Fairlane Torino but no hardtop or convertible model.
If your Falcon is a 4 door or wagon the Fairlane/Torino doors will interchange but if it is a 2 door only the doors from another Falcon will work. As for the Maverick and Falcon, there were no 69 1/2 models and either of those were almost narrow enough to be driven through the 70 1/2 Falcon 2 door, side to side. The 70 1/2 Falcon was almost 2 feet longer, a foot wider, and had engine options up to and including the 429CJ.

Re: doors interchange with a 1970 1/2 Ford Falcon

I had a 1970 1/2 Falcon "one of the fastest cars on the road" 351C 4, 4 barrel Quadrajet, 500 fmx performance tranny, all from the factory. Anyways on the title it said it was a 19701/2 Falcon/Torino and your right it does have the window post, the configuiration or drive train set up in mine, there was only 300 made. I've been looking for one for a long time, this was my first car, bought when I was 16 in 1975 for $1000.00 w/17000 miles on it from a woman who had purchased it new from a local dealership here in Phoenix. It was ordered by a guy on leave from Nam. and he never came back to pick it up. She said she got a real good deal on it because the guy put half down, or it could have been because she was a single beautiful blond? If any one knows of one please let me know. The original color was a matalec blue but she had painted it a baby or powder blue. I traded it in on a new Camero in 1977 and got $600.00 for it, what a fool I was! Thanks Charlie

Right you are. The Fairlane shared the grill with the Falcon of that year, and that was the best pic I could find at the time. I then used the Cobra looking for the correct non-fastback Torino (hard to do, actually). Most Torino pictures either show 4 doors or the version *I* had, which was the Sportsroof:

Both the Cobra and the GT were available in the Sportsroof body.

Here's a Falcon:

Re: doors interchange with a 1970 1/2 Ford Falcon

What is shown in these 2 pics are a plain jane 70 Fairlane 2 door hardtop, not a 70 1/2 Falcon and the bottom picture is of a 1970 Fairlane 500 2 door hdtop. The 70 1/2 Falcon had the same basic body style but had NO hardtop, only a 2 dr and 4 dr sedans and a 4 dr wagon. The sedans both have window posts. They were produced less than 6 months and gave way to only Fairlanes and Torinos in 1971 and beyond.
Engine options ran from the 250-6cyl all the way to the 429 SCJ. And no Cobra models were produced in the Falcon line. They were all Fairlane hardtops.

I didn't know any one else had a 1970 1/2 Falcon Wagon! Nice to know there are more than one of them still on the road!

Re: doors interchange with a 1970 1/2 Ford Falcon

The major issue is that the 1970 1/2 Falcon is a sedan. That means it has a frame around the glass and vent windows on the front doors. All the Fairlanes and Torinos were without frames and vent windows. They were hard tops. The rear doors on four doors on the Falcon had frames also. Any interchangeability is limited to the 1970 1/2 Falcon family only. I have two of them and it always raises some interesting questions and comments.

Re: doors interchange with a 1970 1/2 Ford Falcon

I love the 70 1/2 Falcons and just picked up one myself a few days ago! I have a 70-71 Torino / Ranchero parts wanted / for sale page I made on Facebook that I would like to add any 70 1/2 Falcon owners to! Please contact me at 606-541-0193 or look me up as Troy Leming on Facebook from Wallingford, KY. Thanks
My personal cars:

70 Fairlane 500
70 1/2 Falcon
