never touched a S14 before but i'm sure it's just the usual... just twist the socket 90 degrees... shouldn't take much force either. If it does then stop.. it's probably something else.
the S13 headlight pretty much is stuck with the housing so you can't just change the bulb... i'm sure it's not the same with the 14

they should turn in like 1/3 increments of 360 degrees where there are like wedge shaped things that go through cutouts in what is holding it in. all the bulbs for turn signals, tail lights, etc. are the same way.

tomorrow ill be pulling them headlights out and just do it the hard way or the hard way wich is easier i dont know. Not many people know much about headlights on the S14 here i guess By the way i got me some Silverstars, they were on sale at PepBoys for $35 pair and $5 mail rebate. Guy works there has a white 240, its pretty sweet, he had them on his and showed them to me and they looked nice compared to mine. |

for the S14, on the low beam you need to
1) pull off the main plug 2) rotate that plastic ring and remove it 3) remove the rubber seal 4) there will be a small metal C clip you will need to squeeze it and remove the clip, thats probrably the main clip your having problems with. all you gotta do is squeeze the two things on the clip, and the clip will no longer hold the bulb in place, ( you don't have to worry about dropping the clip because its hinged ) then the bulb should come right out.

not necessarily, the first time yes, but after you do it a few times, its easy. taking them out is not hard, its putting them back in the first few times thats tricky.

I just took the headlight out. It was a pain in the butt otherwise.

ok done! yea i just pulled the headlights out, and now i know how to do it... you would think they would make it a little easier or something, or atleast easier for people with big hands...
so the part number needed is 9003 not 9005 because those are for the high beam and they are totally different bulbs... and not the H4s because those have more of a narrow beam so they are only for motorcycles... 9003 is the right one... |

Re: How the heck do you pull the headlight bulbs out?!!
I've always found it easier to just pull off the headlight. I can't get my hands back there to get the little C-clip out. There are only 4 bolts holding the headlight in so it doesn't take that long to remove.

Nissan's are easy to work on IMO. Hell of a lot easier than my dad's freaking 383 86' camaro.
