Help--ZX-6R Vs ZX-6RR
Would anybody be so kind as to tell me of a website or say dirrect what the 1/4 mile and 0-60 times are as well as the top speed and the horsepower of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R and the ZX-6RR motorcycles. Along with this could someone also tell me of the pros and cons of the two motorcycles in relation to one and other. Thanks...

I myself was going to choose between those to. Did alot of reading/research/reading and everything. Basically the R is your more street style bike where the RR is the more straight up race. Just for personal use and round the block riding or racing like you would with a car, get the R.

Re: ZX-6R and ZX-6RR
Yeah correct. The RR is is more race inspired and the the R is just your basic 600 series sportbike. Not too much of a difference between either so either would be a good choice.

Performance:
ZX-6R ('03) 6/03 1/4 mile 10.67 @ 131.0 60-80 mph 4.34 80-100 mph 4.3 top speed 158.5 mph ZX-6RR ('03) 8/03 1/4 mile 10.94 @ 127.3 60-80 mph 4.76 80-100 mph 4.56 top speed n/a General: ZX-6R ('03) 6/03 fuel cons. min/max/ avg (mpg) 34/37/40 peak hp (hp @ rpm) 107.5 @ 13,000 peak torque (ft-lbs @ rpm) 46.4 @ 11,000 wet weight (lbs) 418 dry weight (lbs) 389 ZX-6RR ('03) 8/03 fuel cons. min/max/ avg (mpg) 32/38/39 peak hp(hp @ rpm) 101.5 @ 13,500 peak torque (ft-lbs @ rpm) 43.0 @ 11,000 wet weight (lbs) 419 dry weight (lbs)389 These numbers were from http://www.sportrider.com/bikes/performance/ As you can see the RR is a homaligation (spelling?) special, same chassis as the R but a smaller engine.

Does the RR have any better handling than the R? And do either of the two have any good performance parts... if so could you give me some websites containing them. Thanks again... and for the information and advice given previously.

Well I belive they would handle about the same. The only differences between the R and RR is the engine/ transmission. There are tons of parts for both. I'd say http://www.factorypro.com/Prod_Pages/prodk36.html is a good place for power.
For most every thing else http://www.kneedraggers.com/ has good prices.

Re: ZX-6R and ZX-6RR
636 is a cheater bike. Get the RR so when you beat your friends down with it they cant blame it on the extra 36 CCs.

Re: ZX-6R and ZX-6RR
I heard that the 636 is faster and do not get an rr unless your ready to fork out a couple of thousand (3 - 7) in mods to make it the true bike kawa wanted/intended it to be. it was built for a track = which is why a lot of pro races instantly bought them when it was first released.
another rumor i heard was a fully modded rr will rape a 636 on a track but street wise versus a modded rr... i dont kknow / stock on stock for a street take the 636. |

Re: ZX-6R and ZX-6RR
You heard wrong. Of course the 636 is SLIGHTLY faster, it has 37 ccs on the RR. A good buddy of myne has the RR and that thing is bad ass. Its about the same performance wise as all of your other 600s out there. And 636 versus a RR on the track would PURELY be rider ability. The bikes are very close in comparison and it would boil down to the rider. A simple full exhaust system on the RR would prolly be equal to a 636 performance wise.

Are you sure those figures are correct??? I just raced one with my stock 2002 Z06 at 60Mph, by the time I reached 130MPH I gained 50+Feet on him. And I've raced 1000cc sport bikes that do 10 sec. 1/4 miles, trust me, they are a lot faster.... I think mid 11's is more realistic.. |
