Lightbulb Timing/Knock

I have a '91 supra turbo and i have had it for about a year and a half and i have a slight knock in the engine its not loud or anything just annoying more than anything. I also would like to know anyones thoughts on timing a 7M-GTE if the best way is just with a timing light and top dead center or doing it just by eyeing it or what?

Thanks to anyone who has ideas
