Post Honda Challenge

The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) is pleased to announce the launch of the Honda Challenge Series as a nationally recognized class. Honda Challenge was launched in 2002 by NASA's Virginia Chapter and became wildly popular with fields of up to 37 cars per event in its first year. "The series has been this successful because so many people want to race Hondas and NASA has a great program for both new and experienced drivers," says East Coast Honda Challenge Director, Karl Shultz. "NASA recognizes the importance of this class, so we are ready to go prime time and bring the show to Honda and import enthusiasts nationwide," added NASA's National Chairman Ryan Flaherty.

A new set of national rules has been drafted to attract many existing racecars currently running in other venues and allow for common aftermarket modifications. These new rules will apply to all NASA chapters other than the Virginia Chapter for 2003. The Virginia Chapter will continue to use the original East Coast Honda Challenge rules until 2004, when they will adopt the national rules in order to standardize the program nationwide.

This series has already attracted a great deal of attention and the excitement is continuing to build. Contingency programs from aftermarket businesses such as OPM Motorsports, Cobalt Friction, Kirk Racing, Road Race Gear.com, and LTB Motorsports are in place with more planned as additional vendors join the ranks of Honda Challenge supporters. Additionally, Grassroots Motorsports has committed to provide editorial coverage of the series on a continuing basis and Honda Challenge will be a featured group at the Hyperfest automotive lifestyle events this year.

User Guidelines It's important to read, like the Bible. But unlike the Bible we will strike you down if you jerk off around here.
