ASE Certification?

Hi guys,

I was curious about ASE certification. I noticed NAPA auto parts prefers parts counter people to have ASE parts certification. Not saying everyone who works there has it, just that they prefer it. I was wanting to work for NAPA warehouse parts or possibly another automotive store or repair shop.

Here is the situation; I have over 20 years of working knowledge on various types of vehicles of many brands. However I have never worked in a professional repair shop, but I am very good at repairing anything in a car other than transmissions or transfer cases. I don't really know much about them.

So i went to the ASE website and noticed the certification tests can be taken online. My question is: where do you get the study materials and how hard is it to pass the 4 or 5 tests to become ASE tech certified?
What type of questions will they ask?

Thanks for the help!

Re: ASE Certification?

Your best bet is to find out if they pay for ASE tests as they can get expensive. They aren't nearly as hard as you would think.
