New: Classifieds Forum Guidelines - Effective Nov 9, 2005 - READ BEFORE YOU POST
ANY threads not complying to these guidelines will be closed/deleted immediately by moderators. These guidelines are not to make posting harder, they're to make it easier, and make you more successful in your sales.
ALL POSTS TITLES MUST START WITH EITHER "FS","FS/FT", or "WTB" SELLING CARS/PARTING CARS: 1. You MUST post a VIN number. No questions asked. 2. You MUST post pictures. You're not gonna sell a car with no pics. 3. You MUST post the title status (clean, salvage, rebuilt) 4. Even if you are just parting out a car, POST THE VIN. 5. ALL posts should follow the following outline: LOCATION/PRICE Year/Make/Model Title status and VIN Color/Transmission/Motor info Interior description Exterior description Motor/suspension description Photos Contact info 4. DO NOT post your negative opinions in car for sale threads. Don't say what a piece of crap it is or how overpriced it is. SELLING MOTORS: 1. YOU MUST POST A VIN# OR BLOCK CODE. No questions asked. 2. It is strongly recommended that a photo be included. If a photo is requested and you are unable to provide one, your thread will be closed/deleted. 3. All posts should include year, motor code (as in b18c5), MILEAGE, and whether the motor is a shortblock (bottom end only), longblock (bottom end and head) or complete swap (everything). 4. If the motor is a complete swap, include in the post whether it comes with: axles, ECU, harness, transmission, and mounts. SELLING EVERYTHING ELSE: 1. If the asking price on an item is over $500, you MUST include a picture, and that picture MUST include an index card/piece of paper next to the item that says "AF classifieds - *insert item name here*" (IE if it is a Garrett T3/T4 turbo, the paper would say "AF classifieds - T3/T4 turbo). (this seems silly but keeps stolen parts off the boards.) 2. Post pictures! The more pictures of an item, the more likely it is to sell quickly. 3. If an item is under 50lbs and you are not willing to ship it, your thread will be closed and you will be asked to post it in local forums. HOWEVER, do not post it in the local forum until you are asked to do so. Do NOT post up asking how much a vehicle or part is worth! This forum is for buying and selling, NOT estimates! That's all I can think of. Like I said, I'm not trying to make life difficult. I'm trying to make this place more organized, a more active buying/selling community, and also make it harder for stolen parts to come and go. Happy buying/selling everyone!
