Radio Antenna issue - 2009
Radio Antenna issue
Just bought a used 2009 CR-V EX-L. The previous owners put in one of those Alpine Pkg-RSE2 DVD players for use in the back seat. The afterfactory DVD player uses a FM modulator to hear audio over the Honda’s radio. My issue is that my AM radio antenna does not seem to be connected as I have almost no AM reception (This will be big issue for me as all my baseball games are on AM!!) from the local stations that come in clearly on other radios. I’m still getting some FM, but it feels like its weak. I think the AM/FM antenna is in the windshield (not sure), and then there is a separate antenna for XM (the rubber duck one on the rear). My question is what does the OEM antenna cords look like at the back of the radio? Is there one for AM/FM and another for XM and thus two antenna inputs? |

Re: Radio Antenna issue - 2009
I think I found my issue, whoever installed this alpine dvd player did not hook up the FM modulator correctly. They left the power cord uninstalled.
I might need to pull the radio to get at it. Any suggestions on a pry tool to start taking this dash apart? |

Re: Radio Antenna issue - 2009
Had to take the dash off - very easy as it just pulled out, and then 4 screws for the radio.
I took out the FM modular and plugged in the antenna directly to the radio. The issue was there was some adapter that prevented the car antenna from working. Now all good. Last edited by pokerman11; 03-03-2013 at 03:20 PM. |
