Honda CRV Brake Change
Just wondering what the expected mileage was for changing brakes on a 2008 CRV. A friend of mine told me he's got 68,200 miles on the original brakes, and hasn't had any problems with them yet.

Re: Honda CRV Brake Change
There's so many variables that there is no way you can predict brake wear. First start with all the different pads available, there's at least four different grades available. Then there's the difference in driving conditions, for instance one day this week I drove for over ten hours and probably used the brakes less than 10 minutes, that's a lot different than city driving with all your stop and go. And then there's the general condition of the total braking system, are the calipers aligned, the rotors turned to factory specs and what about the suspension? If you have bad struts or an imbalanced ride height the stress on the brakes will be greater. 68k is dang good, but you have to look at all the factors, the main one being the foot on the pedal.

Re: Honda CRV Brake Change
Just helped him with the change out of the brake pads and they weren't bad for 68,200 plus miles on them.
