McLaren 570S

Just published in the October 2017 issue of Scale Auto Magazine. I did the expanded review of the Revell 570S, built out-of-box. The model looks good, could stand to be lowered slightly and Plamoz etched details and wheels/tires will definitely improve the model. Full engine detail that's barely visible. Door fit is a bit tricky, and unless you have two sets of door panels, you won't be able to display with the doors open and closed.

White with black accents is a nightmare to photograph Wheels are shot with Alclad black chrome.

Re: McLaren 570S

I was lurking around today after many years hoping to see if any of the old names are still active on here. You're the first I've seen of those familiar names from back in the day. Unfortunately it seems many of my favorite modelers are M.I.A.: Kunta, Primeraman, Subway, tonioseven

Anyways Nice work man.

Thanks! I've seen enough of these to know if I want that taillight strip red, I have to illuminate the rest of the model and not quite ready to tackle that

Looks good! Read through your review last night, came at a great time as I was just thinking about starting mine. Great job on the review by the way. I'll have to check out those Plamoz items as I wasn't at all impressed by the kit wheels and tires.

Bob - just got the digital version of Scale Auto, and thank you for providing some insight into the fitment into the exhaust! I was perplexed as well.

Glad it helps! The exhaust is easy, too bad the instructions don't convey that whatsoever

Thanks! The Revell wheels/tires are oversize (usually it's just the tires w/too much sidewall to compensate for undersized wheels); the Plamoz are the correct dimensions, so you'll definitely want to test fit/lower the model a bit. Not terribly difficult if you study the suspension sub-assemblies and how the attach to the chassis.

Re: McLaren 570S

Bob, excellent build, great colour scheme. I must get some Alclad Black Chrome, those wheels look just right in that colour.

Re: McLaren 570S

As always Bob, fantastic. Looks killer in white. I have a set of Plamoz wheel/tires and the PE set and even without lowering the kit his wheel/tire combo lowers it some and looks much much better.

What's next?

Thanks!

As for articles, Revell/Monogram's reissued RX7 built w/the racing parts, and Hasegawa's BMW 2002 tii w/some extra detail.

Re: McLaren 570S

Great job on a fine car, it looks wonderful in white. And it doesn't look like a cheap plastic toy, which isn't always easy with white cars.
