Tamiya poly putty
How hard is Tamiya's polyester putty when it cures? Can it be scribed, or is it too soft to hold a good scribed line? Their basic stuff is too soft....

Yeah, but you can't do this to it-
and have a good, consistant scribed groove. The edges crumble, and the scriber catches and digs in in some places, and doesn't in others. I'm looking for something I can fill seams with, and then rescribe a panel/door line on top of. I figure since the polyester putty is essentially a catalyzed epoxy resin, maybe it acts more like plastic than a cellulose type filler like Tamiya basic. Anyone have any experience with this? |

Re: Tamiya poly putty
Basic and polyester putties are too soft for rescribing, some epoxy putties are hard enough, but for filing lines and rescribing new ones, use super glue. It works perfectly.
