Re: Group Build- Road & Track
I think the phantom racers belong to its own category/theme. That said, it's not exactly practical to do another group build for just that because they are related to R&T, so maybe we can go for R & T + P for 2016?
That way, we can cover both the technical aspect of recreating real cars and the artistic side of coming up with unique, creative model. |

Re: Group Build- Road & Track
Again, fictitious race cars won't be excluded if thats what a builder really wants to do. For that matter, if you really want to do a fictitious road car based on an LMP or the like, that's probably fine too. But I don't see a need to include it as a theme.
Honestly, the goal here is not to encourage more creative building. It is simply to encourage more building. Anyone is welcome to make it as complicated as they enjoy for themselves- and I am sure that some of us will embrace just that. Go as wild as you want. But this is one where all one has to do to fully participate is build two out of the box kits- and I want to encourage anyone and everyone to do just that. And then, build two more. The theme here is MORE. A fun, inclusive opportunity to build MORE.

Re: Group Build- Road & Track
Thinking well I would be interested in the opposite of your guideline , or start from a race car to convert in a road car:
think: a trackday Mini, built exactly like a old, patinated, vintage car, restored in street narrow specs (in the style of Wheeler Dealers and... I know I'm not tall like Ed China...) and eventually...... in long wooden Countryman shape.... I'm pulling the guidelines too much?

But seriously, I think I know someone who is making a transkit for the original countryman, using the Tamiya Mini- will have to see if he is selling it yet.
