99 Dodge 1500
Did wheel bearings about 10,000 miles ago.
Have a noise started 2 weeks ago....sounds like a "rub" noise like a shoe rubbing but only half way around the disc (front left is the noise)... Have turned off the engine coasting 35mph braked, clutch in, out. No difference. Seems to be with rotation of wheel, noise slows when going slower, faster when going faster. Took wheel off, caliper is free all moves as normal. Left disc will be right at to hot to touch, right is warm but can hold on to it. Ok wuddya think? |

Re: 99 Dodge 1500
If the left disc is hotter than the right under the same conditions, it seems like it might be rubbing on the pads. This could be uneven disc wear or a warped disc.
If it's uneven wear you may be able to get it resurfaced. If it's warped, you just need a new one.
