2008 wrangler unlimited, ABS light and brake problem.

Happy Holidays,
My friend got this 2008 jeep about 3 months ago. Like new shape and only 11,500 +/- miles. Had it checked and all recalls done at a jeep/cyr dealership.
Has been driving it a good bit and yesterday on a 'round-a-bout' trip of about 115 miles the ABS light came on. The jeep had no problems as we could see so we keep driving it. Yes the brake fluid was checked and it was OK.
Got back home and took the NEG (-) side off of battery for 5 mins and it did not reset the light so if it comes to it, Monday it will have to be looked at.
Well now you just can't leave a jeep parked just because of a little dash light so he kept driving it and another problem happen. The left rear brake got so hot it turned the rear white shock absorber yellow. ABS light is still on.
All other brakes are good and so is the emergency brake and jeep runs fine. Was thinking maybe a bad caliper. With the low miles on this jeep I guess it was parked more than driven. It has the 16'' rims with the big 'knobbie tires', V6 motor, auto trans, 4 door, Wrangler Unlimited. Thanks for any help.

It could be a rusted slider causing the brake to hang up. A bad soft line to the caliper can cause it to stick also. I'm unsure if that is the cause of the ABS light or not. You might have to have it scanned to get the code to point you in the right direction there.
