Re: Tamiya 1/12 Enzo Ferrari..... Whats in the box... First Look
You should check out the July 2013 issue of Tamiya Model Magazine for the built of the Tamiya 1/12 Enzo using the PE set from SMS.
I found the SMS PE set to be somewhat useful in the built, however, it has its faults: limited instructions on how the PE parts fit to the model, a number of parts are mislabeled on the instruction sheet, many parts are on the three sheet set but not on the instruction sheet, I found that it was very difficult to separate even the larger PE parts and almost impossible for the small parts, and the cost is high (to include the $20 shipping) |

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Enzo Ferrari..... Whats in the box... First Look
I'm building the Tamiya enzo. I have the already built kit which is a big help to see how things should look.
I'm using the Hobby Design sets, both of them, brakes and interior. I used only the brake faces mixing with Tamiya rotors. Many parts are unnecessary as just replace Tamiya good ones for others, I would have liked more extra parts, like Lamnda probes…etc. Anyway if you use only half of the parts from the HD set still worth to get one. I’m waiting parts from SMS to check out and add to the model. The 1/12 Tamiya enzo has been in scene since almost 10 years now and it’s curios that people have discovered now because the kit. I got the built model more cheap than the kit version, better plastic ( ABS vs. PS) metal chassis and motor. You can disassemble a lot and to spend hours detailing it, which I did with mine. The kits offers better options regarding details but look fragile coparing with the semi-diecast version. Still the tires and wheels are wrong in size in the kit which makes the model doesn’t look like the real Enzo. http://www.modelersite.com/en/112193...ri--1-12-scale

Hi Mario,
Now that my Carrera GT is complete, I am in the planning stages of building my 1/12 Enzo. I have seen some builds that have had trouble with lining up the doors and getting them to fit correctly. Did you have a problem with yours? if so what did you do to over come the problems? Best Regards Keith |

Hi Keith The problem with the doors is the plastic (PS) Tamiya used for the kit. The already built is made of ABS. The join between the side and roof section of the door is fragile and, it’s very difficult that keeps the right angle. I strongly recommend to dryfit the angle before to paint, mine needed correction, in other way the door will not close correctly. Please keep me posted of your build.

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Enzo Ferrari..... Whats in the box... First Look
Hobby Easy is very good to deal with. If they show something as being in stock then its a pretty safe bet it is........ Ive had more than 20 orders with them totalling over 200 individual items and everything has always been in stock.
I really want to order from them but when I go to checkout, it asks me to log in, or register, both of which it would not let me do. Sadly as I need some of their stuff! |

It has to do with me, not using the same log-in info, then they think that user name has already been assigned. Yes it has, to me, from previous orders, but now it thinks I'm someone else trying to log in because I tried a different password. I'll keep trying because I have ordered from them before and they are good, if only I can get in!

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Enzo Ferrari..... Whats in the box... First Look
Here's a quick mini review of Tuner Model Manufactory's 1/12 Enzo Suspension set (T2M-5031-C) for those who were curious.
Its a small but high quality set comprising of front and rear replacement shock absorbers in turned Aluminium, Brass and Photo Etch. Heres what you get: 4 X Turned Aluminium lower shock bodies 4 X Turned Aluminium upper Shock bodies 4 X Turned Brass Fluid reservoirs 5 X Turned Aluminium Bolts 3 X Photo Etched Sheets 1 X Colour pictorial instruction sheet The Shock's feature very delicate thread detail along the main half for simulated adjustments and pre drilled holes allowing for plumbing details to be added. The brass reservoirs are incredibly nice (especially when compared to the kits mis-formed, soft vinyl parts) and can be built with or without the metal covers sometimes found on 1:1 Enzo's. There are no springs included with this set as you are expected to use the ones from the Tamiya kit, but that's no problem as these look spot-on and fit perfectly. In summary I highly recommend this set, its not particulally cheap but in this case, you get what you pay for. Regards, Dan
