Thumbs down NY International Auto show'04

I went to the auto show on Saturday and I must say that I was not at all impressed. If I wanted to see a whole bunch of cars that are already out then I would have stood on the highway overpass and played "Thats my Car". they had too many '04 models of all the cars. Hardly any '05 models and new bodies. I was impressed when I saw the Carrera GT. It looks better in person, and I love the new Acura RL '05 body. A couple other concept cars were cool but I go every year and this was one of the weakest years. The maybach still got the most attention of all the cars. Has anyone else gone this year?

Yeah I also went this year, but I didn't think that it was a weak year. My first time going was last year and I thought that this year was better. Well it was kind of weak for the average cars, but for the exotics that I wanted to see, it was great. I really really wanted to see the Carrera GT and the SLR and they were both there, and they made the show fine by me. One question for you.....did you see the new Audi Le Mans car there? I thought that they were supposed to have it but I never saw it. They just had that crazy car from that robot movie that is coming out.

nah I didn't see that one. I agree with you about it the exotic cars. But you know one car I was looking for that I didn't see. The new Lexus GS300 Its supposed to have a new body. I was disappointed by that, But as a matter of fact I loved the BMW 6 series. That might be my new fav.

Yeah I didn't think of the GS300, would of been nice to see that with the new body style. I really liked the 6-series also.....the front seats are extremely comfortable, but there is absolutely no room in the back, I dont even see why they tried to fit back seats in there.

Re: NY International Auto show'04

Just for looks I guess. I didn't get a chance to sit in it though. too many people. I sat in the 545. I love it but I think they should add a little more cabin room in the front. I'm 6'2" so you could see my dilemma. But overall I was loving all the Beamers. Did you get a chance to see the Chrysler 300 or 300C(whatever they call it)? And if so did you sit in it and what do you think bout it?

Yeah I'm just over 6' so i can understand. I didn't get to sit in the 300C b/c there were too many people, but my dad waited in line to sit in it. He liked it a lot but didn't go too much into details.

Re: NY International Auto show'04

Do u think that car would be hot Rimmed up? I got a friend thats trying to get that car. I got mixed feelings about it. Do you think its styled to appeal to an older generation?

Hmm....thats kind of tough to tell. I would have to say that it is more styled to the older generation. But if you put the right rims on it, it might work. Why would he want to get the 300c anyways, seems like a strange choice. You could probably get something better in the 30,000 range.

Re: NY International Auto show'04

I hear that. That wouldn't be my first choice at all.
