Squeaky heater blower 99- help!

As the title suggests, the heater blower in my '99 Taco is squeaking. I have removed the blower and would like some advice on how to lubricate or repair it- if it is possible to do so.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Usually when the blower starts squealing you need to replace it.

Re: Squeaky heater blower 99- help!

I noticed, looking closer at the blower, that there is a small access panel at the bottom. Looks like it must be for lubrication, as the fan motor is visible when opened. Any recommendations on what to use to lube this with, or even if anyone knows for sure that's what this panel is for?

The blower works great, but the noise is irritating and I will replace it if I have to.

Lube is a bandaid at best. The squeal you are hearing is the bearings failing. It is just a matter of time before the motor stops working.

Thanks for the replies TC:

Just for the hell of it I lubed it with a shot of a good quality teflon-based lube- so far no squeaks. I expect you're probably right, it will require replacement, but it didn't cost me anything to try it, and who knows? Maybe it'll stay squeakless for a while....
