Battery Charging Question - Simple
If I wanted to charge some double A batteries using my car battery, I just connect the positive side of the battery to positive side of the double A and do likewise with the negative, right? Just making sure. Saw someone do it before but forgot. Don't want it to blow up in my face. I plan to probably use copper wire with sheathing and wear some safety glasses and gloves and all that.

Re: Battery Charging Question - Simple
I hope this isn't a serious post. A car battery is over 12 volts, while a AA battery is a bit over 1.5 volts if alkaline or NiZn, and >1.2 volts if NiCd or NiMH. NONE of these chemistries are designed to be charged by applying 12+ volts to them, and if you want the rechargeable batteries to last, there is a charging algorithm (varies depending on battery chemistry) to maximize battery life.
