1997 3500 5.9L Ram Van Temp. Selector

The cable that hooks to the sliding temperature selector had been hard to move back and forth for a few years and finally the cable bent a few days ago. Does anyone know how to replace that cable? I pulled the assembly out of the dash but have not been able to figure out where it goes from there. Am I gonna have to remove most of the dash to replace the cable or do I need to remove the dog house?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone knows of a video anywhere that shows how to do it, please let me know. I think there are enough videos online to show someone how to build a Caravan mini van from the ground up . But finding anything for the full size Mopar vans isn't that easy.

Thanks,
Neal
