tiburon reliability?

does any have a tiburon or an hyundai in general with over 100,000 miles on it and it still runs really well with little to no mechanical problems. because im considering getting an '06 or wait till '07 to get a new tib and wanna know if it'll last that long like a honda might.

Re: tiburon reliability?

If you take care of it like you should I don't see why it wouldn't last that long. I have about 75,000 on my Elantra and it's still going just fine.

My mother has an 01 Elantra with 133k on it. Had to replace a rotted-out hose on the power steering pump and the MAP sensor. The radiator went under warrantee, but that could have happened to anyone and have had no problems with the cooling system since. The MAP sensor was a Hyundai only part, cost $50 from the dealer and the mechanic didn't even have to take off the silencer to swap it out -- she wouldn't let me touch it becuase she was afraid I'd break it for some reason. Still getting almost 30mpg and handling just as well as it ever did. Suspension is in great shape, steering is tight. I see no reason why your Tiburon wouldn't last as long if you took care of it.

Re: tiburon reliability?

I have a 05 Tib GT bought I bought new. I have had nothing but problems with it. I also have not had the best experiences with the dealerships as far as being honest about the problems and servicing the vehicle goes. Also watching some of the news on Hyundai lately I feel as though they are not as improved as they want you to think they are. I feel that Hyundai and Kia are very poorly made vehicles. On the other hand some people have them with no problems. I may just have a lemon. But consider what happened to their CEO who is probably going to go to jail for embezzelment and bribery. I believe this character to trickle down throughout the whole company. Best of luck if you do buy one. Also the warranty is a gimmick to watch out for. They require you to regularly maintain your vehicle more often than their competitors and the dealerships like to make up their own maintenance schedules that do not correspond to the owners manual maintenance schedule. No long life coolants, or other fluids, need to have maintenance done approximately every 15,000-30,000 miles to maintain warranty on most areas of the vehicle. This is the downfall of the supposed warranty. One thing that I have learned in my dealings with Hyundai is that they are great at marketing. But are crooked. Best of luck.

Re: tiburon reliability?

Hi, I have a tiburon 97 with 195.000 km. I bought it new.
No real problems with it.
It is my second car now - runs max 5000 a year and hopefully will be for a few years.

Re: tiburon reliability?

Ive got an 03 Tib, runs perrrrfect. Love it. Nice lil car build to mod out. Take care of em, and theyll last for a goood long while. (Hondas are a lil more reliable, i hate to say. Alot of them can reach the Million Mile club. Jus sayin. lol)
