Interior lights and windows issue

I have a 2007 Ford Taurus. I'm having the knows issue with the interior lights and windows not working. If I play with the lock button, I can usually get the windows to start working again and sometimes it'll work for a couple of days and then stop. I looked around online and apparently it's that blue wire with the black strip that may be the problem. I just want to get any and all information from you guys before I start tearing my door apart. If there is already a thread explaining how to solve the issue, link it for me please. I live in Southwest Ohio so "Winter is coming" 😂😂😂

Re: Interior lights and windows issue

The wire damage typically occurs in the accordion boot between the door and the cab. There are one or two threads about this on the forum. Have you tried searching the forum? For one of us to link to it, we'd likely have to search the forum so why not cut out the middle man?
