Re: 1997 sentra no start spark plug tubes full of oil
you can spin the engine to tdc by the mark on the engine damper and see where distributor rotor is pointing. that will either be #1 or 180 degrees out, can use that as #1 and crank engine to see what direction rotor turns then set the wires up 1-3-4-2 in direction rotor turns. if that fixes it great, if it backfires or wont start can start #1 directly opposite one you used before and change other wires accordingly

Re: 1997 sentra no start spark plug tubes full of oil
you can also take the fuel line off the throttle body or injectors and stick it in a gas safe container and make sure it has a good flow when you turn key on. it will only pump for about 2 seconds so might need a helper

Re: 1997 sentra no start spark plug tubes full of oil
so far nothing, cant get my fuel pressure guage on fuel filter I got hose to small or hose to big,, I am about 90% sure I got the spark plug wires in the correct positions, found a photo on Nissan forums and its the 3 rd different one I have seen, the spark plug wires are different postions than what the distributor says, so I guess I'm going to roll the dice and get a fuel pump and see if that's it, its 48 miles one way to a store so might as well buy one

this is the one the did the trick,, hope that comes out. But the real thing that did the trick is I pulled the fuse to the fuel pump cranked it for a bit and then put it back in as soon as I turned the key it fired right up.. now to read up on sealing up those spark plug tubes so oil one get in there Thanks |

Re: 1997 sentra no start spark plug tubes full of oil
Crvett69 Thanks for taking the time to respond so some of my request. I still cant believe by just pulling the fuel pump fuse did the trick. Now the seal on spark plug tubes and crank seal and I'm good for another 100k
