SeaFoam motor treatment
I know someone who is a mechanic. He informed me that SeaFoam motor treatment would be beneficial to my cars engine. He proceeded to tell me that he would spray it directly on the engine, that not to be concerned, but it will smoke briefly when the SeaFoam is applied, but then disapate. I know the label states that the product is usedm in the gas tank. So, what benefit would there be to apply this motor treatment to the engine? Sounds crazy to me.

Re: SeaFoam motor treatment
Buy the liquid Sea Foam. Suck it into the engine through a vacuum line. Most people use the line that goes to the brake booster.
The engine will try to stall while it is sucking the Sea Foam up, because of the vacuum leak you created, and because it is sucking up stuff that doesn't burn like fuel, so you might need a second person to hold the throttle open a little to keep it running until it sucks the whole bottle up. The car will probably start smoking a little before it even sucks up the whole bottle, but don't fret. Let the car sit a good 15 minutes or more then start it up and take it for a good hard run to clean it out. There will be significant white smoke if the engine is higher mileage, but it will clear up quickly. The smoke is carbon burning off the valves and other internal engine components. Burning the carbon off those things helps the engine run more efficient. The only negative is sometimes Sea Foam can foul the spark plugs.
