How to check window/switch 1996 Skylark Custom

1996 Skylark Custom, V6. How can you tell if it is the window motor or switch that is bad? My drivers side window will activate and go up and down very slowly sometimes, and other times I hit the switch, nothing happens. Very intermittent operation.
Thanks for all help.

I have never seen a switch cause a window motor to operate slowly. I have seen several window motors fail though. Check if there is power and ground at the window motor connector when operating the switch. If so, and the window is inop, then the problem is the window motor.
