Jazz: How to remove internal door panel?
Hi all,
Embarrassing newbie question here. Have searched forums but no joy ... Some kids kicked off my wing mirror. After taking a look, I think I can fix it if I can just take off the collar that sits between the mirror housing and the door itself. To access fixtures to take this off I need to remove the internal door panel. (There is one bolt behind a rubber grommet accessible without taking panel off, but there's more behind the panel) Just not sure where to start or how to take it off. Can see a slightly raised trim at bottom which I assume is for leverage, but not much to get going. Tips and guidance MUCH appreciated! Matt |

Re: Jazz: How to remove internal door panel?
hey matt......i know its kinda late........but how did you do with the mirror replacement??
i tell you....i bought my fit........went back to the dealership cuz the dealer wanted to give me a valet key - which shouldve been there when i initially bought the car - and had me drive to the storage shop. on the way to the shop, some dude swiped my driver side mirror off.......I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!.....anyways, the dealer replaced the mirror. they did it right away since my wife was complaining about the situation.....they took both mirrors off a Fit they had in stock since my wife complained that she will have 2 slightly different colored mirrors. |

Re: Jazz: How to remove internal door panel?
Hey,
Well, slightly long story but after the incident, the car was due the MOT. I only had it temporarily sitting on a bed of silicon, the garage cut the control wires to take mirror off to pass the test. I wasn't happy that they hadn't asked my wife before taking off then presented £280 quote to put new one on. I'd rather have failed the MOT, fixed myself then put back through MOT - much cheaper! ... after my ranting, the garage agreed to repair the existing mirror free of charge. Doesn't look perfect, but a result, kinda! Cheers, Matt |
