2007 Wind noise

My 2007 Escalade base has had some pretty bad wind noise since I bought it a couple months ago. And when towing the camper, there was a nasty whistle from the rear which reliably started singing at 58 mph and above.

I checked door gaps, checked the insulation for the side mirrors, and tried repositioning the luggage rack cross bars, nothing made a difference. So I broke down and bought new weatherstripping for the side doors, rear hatch, rear liftgate glass, and the little strip that sits across the top of the liftgate opening.

The door weatherstripping took care of the horribly loud wind noise from the doors. I researched a bit before buying the weatherstripping and most folks were saying the issue is either door alignment, side mirror foam placement, or the window channel. All of those seemed fine on my truck, glad the weatherstripping fixed it.

The whistle when towing the camper is still present, although it's no where near as bad or as frequent. Now it comes in right around 70 mph. I probably don't need to be towing my camper that fast anyway. It also seems to be very dependent upon which direction the wind is hitting me from now too. With a tail wind, even at 70 it's not present. I'm going to continue to search for that source, but I seem to be in the right area.

Re: 2007 Wind noise

you probablly just need to change the door seals. Try to pinponint where the noise is coming from. Otherwise the car could have been crashed and you need take it to a body shop and have the check the alignment of the parts Luxury car rental miami
