94 Ram Van B250 Won't Start
nice site hope someone can help
1994 RAM VAN B250 v6 3.9 I have relay clicking under hood, when temp is lower than 50 degrees. I changed my Auto Shutdown [ASD] & Fuel Relay and fuel pump stills clicks until the temp warms up. Once clicking stops, you here the fuel pump buzz the van will start and run fine. After it warms up, it will not fail again until the next cold morning. if i leave the key turned to on and wait 3 min the relays start to click and the then fuel pimp buzzes and it starts is this a bad connection or back [ecm] thanks for the help Last edited by gwirex; 11-21-2006 at 08:55 AM. |

Always check for bad connections first. Also check the grounds for the relay. It sounds like a loose ground.

Re: 94 Ram Van B250 Won't Start
I was on another dodge forum and the man heated up his pcm with a hair dryer and it started. I always had problems with high temp. on electric but he stated this. If it works I would try a scrap yard pcm. I would also clean connections with contact cleaner. Also check for a tight fit as temp. will affect fit slightly. Esp. clean pins at pcm.

I think your ready for a trip to the scrap yard for two items. Clean off the tag so you get the same ratio rear end. Get the computer number off the computer if getting a used unit.

Re: 94 Ram Van B250 Won't Start
I just tried using the heat gun to warm up my PCM and it worked in about 2-3 minutes. Started it, took away the heat gun, and it died again withing a minute or 2., but could restart it. It would keep dying and restart but it would run longer each time as the motor warms up. Odd since most vehicle electronics are not normally susceptible to cold unless it's well below zero. It is currently about 6 degrees at the time of this writing.

Re: 94 Ram Van B250 Won't Start
Had the same problem on 95 van with 3.9l v6.Tried all the usual suspects, ended up being the pcm/ecm.Put in a remanufactured one from autozone-$265. 5 minute install and it's starting with no problems.Hope this helps someone!
